Recognition of your diploma

You will be provided with all the information necessary to apply to the Ministry of Health for the recognition of your diploma. The hours worked in Italy will be certified by the company for the purposes of the procedure.

WHAT DOCUMENTS DO YOU NEED?

1) Original apostilled diploma
2) Legal translation of the diploma
3) Declaration of value
4) Registration in the Register of Nurses (not card) and authorization for the profession. Once we have checked the requirements, we will ask you to send us an apostilled and legally translated copy with a validity of 3 months
5) Identity document. If the identity document does not match the one appearing on the diploma, please attach a copy of the identity document appearing on the diploma
6) Valid passport
7) Curriculum vitae in European format

HOW TO SEND THE DOCUMENTS?

Scan one complete document at a time in the document upload section of the portal
Make sure they are in PDF format
Name the document as follows:
Example: SMITH Maria – ORIGINAL APOSTILLED DIPLOMA
(Write the last name in capital letters, the first name in lower case and the type of document)

Notes: In the text specify the location of the Italian Embassy/Consulate closest to your residence. It cannot be an Honorary Consulate, as it does not handle visas.

VERIFY YOUR DOCUMENTS

1) We will organize an introductory video-interview in order to check your technical skills and your level of Italian, which must be at least basic/A2
2) If the interview is satisfactory, we will send you the Promise of Employment. You will have to sign the part in Italian and send us a scanned copy in PDF format through the document upload section of the portal
3) Once we receive the signed Promise of Employment, we will request the Nulla Osta - Visa from the Prefecture of reference of the structure where you are going to work.
4) Once the Nulla Osta is granted (it may take up to 3 months), the Prefecture will forward it to the Italian Consulate that you have indicated in the notes when uploading your documents.
5) Once the Nulla Osta has been received, the Italian Consulate will summon you to receive the Entry Visa to Italy for subordinate employment.
6) Upon arrival in Italy, you will be escorted to the competent Prefecture where you will have to present the originals of the documents uploaded on the portal and your passport with the Entry Visa for subordinate employment for the issuance of the Permit to Stay.

This is thanks to the possibility that the Italian Government has provided, on the initiative of the European Union, to temporarily recognize qualifications obtained abroad.

Legislative Decree 31 December 2020, no. 183 – Art. 13 “Derogation from the rules on the recognition of professional health qualifications and citizenship for employment in the public administration”

Legislative Decree 30 March 2023, no. 34 – Until 31 December 2025, in derogation from Articles 49 and 50 of the regulation referred to in Presidential Decree 31 August 1999, no. 394, and the provisions of Legislative Decree 9 November 2007, no. 206, the temporary exercise of professional health qualifications and the qualification of social health worker is permitted to professionals who intend to practice, independently or as employees, in the national territory, including in private or accredited health facilities, a health profession or the profession of social health worker on the basis of a professional qualification obtained abroad regulated by specific directives of the European Union.
