The health emergency decree that allows us to hire graduate nurses abroad, without recognition of the qualification in Italy, is valid until 12/31/2025.
After that date, the law in force (*) applies and in order to be able to practice the profession in Italy and remain in the country, the Ministry of Health must have recognized the qualification and be registered with the OPI – Order of Nursing Professions – of the region where he works.
(*) The procedure is governed by art. 27, paragraph 1, letter r-bis) of Legislative Decree 286/98 (TUI) and art. 40, paragraph 21, of Presidential Decree 394/99 which governs the recruitment of foreign nurses in public and private healthcare facilities.
If you are abroad and want to work with us as a nurse during the health emergency, you must carefully read the information below and follow the steps indicated on the official website.
We remind you that the contract is fixed-term, while the decree is in force which allows the hiring, during the health emergency, of health personnel graduated abroad and without recognition of the title. After that date, if the title is not recognized by the Ministry of Health, your residence permit will not be renewed, you will no longer be able to practice the profession of nurse or any other profession, you will not be able to remain in the country.
Some regions, where we have our Care Homes, require the Declaration of Value.
The Declaration of Value, together with other documents that you will find on the Ministry of Health website, are indispensable for submitting the request for recognition of your qualification in Italy. The Declaration of Value is issued at the Italian Consulate of the country where you graduated.
The documents required for the recognition of the qualification by the Ministry of Health can be forwarded by the country in which you reside.
Your residence permit will be linked to the contract stipulated with Codess Sociale, you will not be able to change employer as long as the contract with us is in force.
The first requirement for working in Italy in this phase is to draw up a Declaration of Value or legally translate and apostill the educational qualification and professional qualification, with which one can work as long as the health emergency persists. Both originals and non-legal translations must be apostilled.
When you have the original of the title translated and apostilled and/or the Declaration of value, collect the following documents and send them to us only in PDF format via scanner and separately, through the website www.nursesitaly.com.
We do not accept JPG documents, photos. Originals and non-legal translations must be apostilled.
Prepare the documents as follows:
Capitalize the last name and lowercase the first name, then name them one by one, as follows:
Example: PÉREZ Maria – ORIGINAL TITLE APOSTILLATED
1) photocopy of the original apostilled title;
2) photocopy of the legal translation of the title with apostille and/or of the declaration of value;
3) Copy of the original of the Enrollment in the Register of Nurses and of the authorization to practice, legally translated and apostilled. Subsequently, a declaration of validity of the registration will be requested.
The validity of the registration must have a maximum expiry of 3 months and be current when it is presented in the Region where we will send it. Pack it when you already have a travel date. We will tell you at the moment how to present it. Which means that the translation of the card is not enough, but they ask for the updated registration certificate.
4) photocopy of an identity document. If the identity document is not the same that appears in the qualification, attach a copy;
5) photocopy of valid passport;
6) Curriculum vitae/CV possibly in European format;
7) Communicate the seat of the Italian Embassy/Consulate closest to your residence, it cannot be an honorary Consulate, since it does not process visas.
Some Embassies require, as a mandatory document, the last work contract as a nurse, you must present it to the Embassy, in case you are granted the Nulla Osta. Others require the Declaration of Value
8) We will fix an appointment for an interview which will be in Italian, we will send a mobile number to be able to communicate via WhatsApp. We advise you to take a basic course in Italian.
If you meet the requirements and once we have identified the structure that requires staff, we will send you the Promise of employment, you will have to sign it in the part written in Italian and send us a scanned copy in PDF format via the website: www.nursesitaly.com.
